i just turned 17 and my SS is 775 for 6 months thats with a multicar and good grade discount, for people saying they pay 300+ a month idk how you do it, i tried an esurance.com quote one time for the ss and they quoted around $1100 per MONTH, needless to say i didnt go with them, o and its in my name.

wow I don't know how you guys are getting it so cheap. Since I've read some of these I did some more research and I'm still getting quotes for more than 1500 every 6 months. Oh well, I can barely afford it but I'm doing it.

When I was 17:

Purchased a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (June 2005).

Before purchase I understood:

Insurance in my name (in Rochester, NY) with driver's education discount and good student discount was roughly $6000 per year in my name.

In my father's name (60) it was $189/mo. Second year in his name was $90/mo. Third year in his name was...

You get the picture. Once I hit 20, I started insuring it in my name.

Good luck.

I got my car (99 T/A) when i was 17 I'm 18 now. Our family insurance company said it would be $299/month for full coverage and me driving it. So we made mom the daily driver and its only $300/half year. She is in her 40's and has a clean record. Put it under a parent much cheaper!

I pay $105/month for liability on my 94 Z28. I'm 19 with about the worst driving record possible while having a license. I just came off of my 2nd license suspension to give you a little taste of how bad it is.

I'm 29 and my wife is 27, she'll be 28 in Feb. I only have liability on my work car '99 Ford Escort $201 every 6 mo. '00 SS is $203 every 6 mo. and my wife's Chrysler Town and Country is full coverage $350 every 6 mo. For 3 vehicles $754 every 6 mo.

If I were you, I'd shop around before I bought the car. If you have endless funds $$$ and it doesn't matter, then get it.

Im a 21 yr. old male, and I pay 134/month for full coverage on my T/A. You might be thinking, "bullshit," but I assure you this...

Keep a clean driving record and good grades, and it helps a lot.

But then again, it might have something to do with our multiple policies, and the fact we've been with Allstate for 16 years.
