I have a 2002 formula NMRA edition A4 with T-Tops, completly stock. What would I need to beat a C5 vette soundly in 1/4 mile and roll racing if he so desires?

a gear and lid and cat bac will do this in the 1/4 the c5 has a higher set speed limiter than the f body

 

If you drive well and he doesn't, nothing. If he's an M6 you'll need a stall and that should do it. If he's an A4, a lid/cutout should do you just fine.

No it doesn't. Sure on the F-bods that didn't come with Z rated tires, but not the rest.

 

if you have 3.23's and he has 2.73's and you take out your back seats and sparetire/jack with less than a 1/4 tank of gas then you could probably take him from a stop.(sort of serious)

 

F.Y.I. ... I'd personally avoid a roll race with a C5 in an A4 unless your built up pretty good. Especially if he has a Manual. They're light enough where he'll take you on the roll and eat you on the top end ....especially if you don't know what your do'n! If you had a Manual I'd say that it would be an interesting match. But you don't have an M6...you got your self an A4. Stick to what their good at(A4) and keep the race with the C5 from a dig. Just my .02s!

I have pacesetter long tubes and Y pipe, magnaflow catback and an SLP lid in my garage. So all that could do it? I'm waitng for the track to open so I can get a baseline time.

Is the C 5 Stock?

 

If the C5 is stock then bolt-ons and a stall and you should have him.

 

werd, +1. That takes care of things fairly easily i would say.

why not throw in some boost, then you can take z06's as well

Listen, If you wanna beat a vette or many other iconic cars without completely FULL OUT modding I would get two things on an automatic car.

1)Stall Converter
2)Nitrous

Vettes are not all that much faster than Fbodys. The only thing vettes have going for them is their lightweight and aerodynamic characteristics, but have the same drive train as the Fbody's.

Now Z06 is a different story but if you had the stall and nitrous you could easily beat a C5 Z06.

thats all you need..... maybe a lid and filter too. .... . ..

 

Go ahead and bolt up the headers... install the lid NOW (why wait)

and pay $800 for a basic, yet complete nitrous set-up.

You'll embarrass him badly if you hit the juice during a roll race.

Bolt ons and a stall will really wake your car up!
Add nitrous to that and you'll have an even bigger kick in the pants
