Default Whisper lid question...

Do the whisper lids come with their own air filter? Or do you need to get an aftermarket air filter to go with them?

They don't come with a filter. But you can use any you desire. I use a paper stock-type filter.

How much if any HP gain would I see by going with an aftermarket filter like a K&N in place of the stock paper one?

Close to nothing from what I've read. Might as well just use the stock paper style one.

Really!? Nothing gained by changing from the paper one to a K&N!? Anyone else have an opinion here?

when i duynoed my car i only picked up 1 hp from apaper air filter to none at all, so even a high flow one couldnt pick you up more than 1hp, unless your paper one is REALLY dirty IMO

I have heard of people losing HP with a K&N over a Stock paper one. My car came with a K&N when I bought it, I will be changing it back to a paper filter when I install my lid and SSRA next weekend. It's not worth the $50 price tag IMO.
