Default Seats

On another board I always heard people swaping the T/A seats into their Camaro...

What are the differences in the seats the compells people to switch them? More support?

There is another thread going on about this right now:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-lsx-automobile-discussion/681302-4th-gen-f-body-seats.html

The T/A seats are 1,000,000,000 x better then the Camaro seats.

Camaro's seats have no headrest compared the the T/A's adjustable ones.

Lumbar - Camaro has no support really, feels like a bench seat. The T/A seats for both driver & passenger have lumbar support for your sides and for your lower back.

Jump in a Camaro with leather seats and cruise for a few minutes, and take some turns hard.
Now install (or go for a ride in a T/A) a set of T/A seats. They bolt right in and electric connections are the same. Now drive the same route, you will see the difference is like night/day....Camaro seats just suck period.

Thats why I put a set of T/A seats in my SS, and I know alot of my buddies has done this mod as well.

Peace,
Craig.

I've ridden in both an '02 TA WS6 and an '02 Camaro SS, and I liked the Camaro's seats better.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for CRAGER. If they have a tighter lumbar support on the sides, and back, then the Camaro seats are getting tossed if I can't find a T/A by May.

You are one of the very very very very few that think that, but hey to each their own.

But a few questions, do you drive an SS? And on the T/A that you rode in, did you adjust the lumbar to fit your size?
Because if you did, I can't believe you don't like them more than the SS seats. Again to each their own though.

Peace,
Craig.

Like I have mentioned earlier, T/A has 110% more lumbar support. Side lumbar and lower back support, and one both sides so your passenger has it as well.

If you have a chance to pick some up, get them. A few tips for you ya, don't get any LT1 seats, make sure the LS1 seats are optioned for lumbar support, and make sure you get the air tubes/power cord that goes from the drivers seat over to the passengers seat.
Its the same wiring harness/connection under the drivers seat as the Camaro's so you just plug it in, not wire splicing.

Peace,
Craig.

I drove the SS, yes. I don't own either. No, I didn't adjust the lumbar in the T/A.

That is probably why then. But you never know, everybody has their own opinions.

I want a set of TA seat in my car so friggin bad. I hate the non adjustable side bolster. The foam in both of my Camaros on the side bolsters ripped within a few days of driving. Plus they are just too narrow. Now I had a question, is the tan leather in the TA's the same color as in the Camaro's. I want to switch badly, but not if the leather won't match.

Yes they are the same color, tan for tan, graphite for graphite, ebony for ebony. And the rear seats look the same to match the fronts, same pattern.

Some T/A seats that are tan leather are two-tone. Tan leather but the back side where the mesh pockets are, that section is black. I've only seen that on Firehawks but might pop up on other T/A models, I'm not sure.

Peace,
Craig.
