Easiest way to get to 450hp... with 1998 Z28????
Whats up folks,
I'm trying to get from stock LS1 to 450 hp, in the simplest way possible. I'm considering getting a procharger kit... but i'm not sure what other components i would need to support the kit, safely (anyone know???)
Also, I saw this sketchy kit on the SLP website (http://www.slponline.com/browse_list.asp) that had a "performance pac" that apparently supplies you with all the "bolt-ons" you need to get to certain horsepower settings... anyone know the legitimacy of these packages?
Whatever advice you guys have will be help, just let me know what you think is the easiest way to get to 450Hp. PEACE

Nitrous is the easiest and cheapest way to get to that power level. I personally wouldnt do it, I am going the H/C/I route, but if all you care about is power, then N2O is the answer. And coming out of a centrifugal supercharged car, dont go that route. Your gonna need to upgrade alot more stuff with a SC then you would H/C, or spray.

N2O if you only want that power for racing......but if your like most of us and want that power all the time I suggest you go with a decent heads/cam package, check out some of the sponsors, they'll help you get what you want

The best way would be n2o but its better to get the procharger set up just get a fuel managment system with it and you will be good. my friend has a 350z with a procharger kit and has about 370 rwhp from stock its fast as hell

I'm having a H/C/I done right now, I'm hoping to hit 420 to the rear wheels on a mustang dyno, 99 M6 Z. Total cost between parts and labor is around $4,500.
1100 for heads/valves/springs, 400 for cam, 100 for lifters, 100 for pushrods, 150 for bolts, 150 for oil pump, 500 for intake, 75 for porting the TB, 400 for injectors, ~200 for all the gaskets, 100 for timing chain, ~100 for misc like plugs, fluids, filter, 700 for labor, 325 for tune..

STS TURBO. 3g's and you'll have a turbo LS1, of course on a stock engine I'm not sure if you can safely boost enough PSI to hit 450rwhp.
Honestly your going to have to keep in mind your tranny, rear end, and whatever else you think may come up. If you have a 6-speed, and a stock clutch...it WILL go lol. As was said earlier, your best bet is a 150 shot of nitrous.

If you go full bolt ons & a good sized cam you should make about 450hp (at the crank). It will take a well thought out heads/cam setup if you want 450 to the wheels. The other option is to go with some sort of forced induction (turbo or supercharger).
