Read this LOL This kid thinks that a Neon can out handle a 99 z29 Camaro.
He states "I stated was the V6 early 80's camaros did not have better handling characteristics. It's a simple fact, get over it. Neons are damn good road racers and if you took your head out of your *** and looked around the net you can watch them DOMINATE SCCA and other road race events. These cars were built to handle, kinda like the mini's. If 10-13 mph faster than stock top speeds are so unbelievable for a car that has seen several engine modifications and aerodynamic modifications, then be bull headed, I don't care. When you physically feel the speed limiter throw you forward at its programmed 148 mph, you can't argue with that.
I can beat a non-srt-8 charger with ease. A stock neon can't. The 5.7's run high 14's. On the other hand the 6.1 SRT-8's blow the doors of your camaro with twice the comfort. They're good for 13.0-13.1."
He claims his neon is limitless in speed and the 1/4 mile.
It's suspension is better and can out handle the camaro and vette.

148 isn't that "fast". Neons are very aerodynamic and have fully independent suspension, its not an old rwd box with SLA suspension. The blue neon also has modified suspension (stiffened and lowered) with prothane suspension bushings all around. Ofcourse the motor isn't stock either, or it wouldn't be hitting those speeds. A stock neon without speed limiter will top out at about 130-135 depending on which 5-speed trans is in it.
Streetricer- your neon shuts off at 118. Not one mph more.
On the other hand the srt-4 can reach 160ish, not sure on the exact figures on that. That has a bigger motor and hairdryer to push that along

He just basically thinks his Neon can out Drag, out handle and is faster than a LS1. PLEASE HELP ME SHUT HIM UP WITH SOME KNOWLEDGE. I know you guys are pretty hardcore on here and well educated in this stuff. ( I read thru lots of stuff and get loads of information and learn alot) I am just a chick trying to prove a point. And since I am a girl this kid thinks I know nothing about cars.

Dont have any specs for ya but when my 99 Z28 was stock I dogged out an SRTNeon or what ever the little turbo one is

I mean some people just can't get it through thier heads it is a NEON, same type of person that would think chevettes are badass and Yugos are prostreet. The kid is very similar to the kid in the move "Bad Santa" Thurman Merman or something like that
I know a guy with a srt-4, they are good cars. When he races he can keep up with the vettes in the corners but then the vettes blow him away in the straights. In any case the srt-4 is very good for the money, pick em up used for 14,000 or less.
You cant ever look down on a srt4 there are two guys in my town that have them. And no one wants anything to do with them as in racing, there both mid 11 cars. Yes they are reliable dd, but if you want to make on fast you can. And not spend a whole hell of alot to do it.
