Default Magic Stick4

I was at a dyno last night with a buddy getting a tune and I saw a z28 with just a lid ,magic stick4, and exhaust hit 410 at the wheels first run without a tune.I"m definetly wanting a cam now but how much will my stock rear end, tranny, and clutch take? I dont plan on beating on the car its my dd but i will take it to the track for at least a few runs.

If you want to put down that kind of power it's time to upgrade the clutch and rear, the M6 should take it no problem though.

that clutch set up is a very HEAVY choice. I would spend the money and get a
REAL clutch for the same price like a SPEC Stage 3.

Also MS4 is a pretty nice cam, but i dont think a cam with such a high lift and aggressive lobe profiles would be a good choice for a daily driver. I would get a 233/239 duration cam on some XE-R lobes. Call any speed shop and they can custom order a cam to your specs.

ya a magic stick 4 is supostu give 80rwhp over a bone stock 01 ss so thore numbers sound right. as far as the trany clutch and rear. the trans is fine withy that much power the M6 has been known to run nid 10s on stock trans the stock clutch is fucked oyu are lucky if it holds together on a stock set up if you are driving the car hard. now the stock rear..... GM put a granade in all the stock rear ends off all f bodys ever made. they will explode at any random time when you decide to drive the car hard!!!there is no way around it . if you drive it hard it will break.

the stock clutch will go before anything else the LS1 clutch is absolutely horrible in my opinion it would even slip on me with less than 315 hp and 5 bent pushrods.

Stock rearend sucks, i agree on that though.

i would still get something better so you dont have to go back and change it. I like to do things once.

I want to do something soon
i have a feeling the first time I launch hard at the track its a done deal
the old man who owned my car never beat on it but i give it hell when i can(when my little girl is not in the car)
I was told the clutch gm puts in these cars a more like a fuse for the rear end
meaning they are meant to break before the rear end????is that true
if so i guess i should figure out a rear end first huh?

Hmm... thats a tough one. I personally have my stock one that I reused after I just roughed it up with some sand paper and cleaned it with brake cleaner.

Some people like the lightweight flywheel b/c they help free up some power(parastic loss) and help you rev up faster. Some people complain that they do not like to rev up so quickly when paired with a 25% UD pulley.

Personally I would probably either get a Billet Flywheel, or an LS2 flywheel paired with a Spec Stage 3.

alot of people on these boards hate teh spec 3 clutch....if you want somthin thats gonna last longer than 5k miles on the street your prolli gonna want the ls7 clutch...other than that most people would recomend the textrailia clutches. I personally just got the ls7 clutch installed in my full bolt on 98ss with a 3.73 rearend and im lovin it.
