The flowmasters are going to be the worst as far as horsepower goes, and the magnaflow is one of the best.
When I was looking at catbacks, the magnaflow was just way too quiet, and the loudmouth was a little raspy for my tastes, so I went with a TSP Rumbler. To me, it sounds pretty damn good.

No flowmasters.
Realistically you probably will not feel a SOTP (seat of the pants) difference in power by swapping cat-backs, especially on an SS.
Think about what you will do with the car in the future when deciding something like this. If you will go to longtube headers decide whether or not you will run high flow cats and see how the cat-back/muffler you are thinking of will sound once you complete the exhaust.
Search and read the stickies, there is a TON of information on cat-backs within this site.
I would wait and do longtube headers with true duals at the same time, but not everybody would make that decision. YOU have to decide what YOU want. Listening to them IN PERSON is best.

dont mess with the cat backs... go with true duals... w/ the ss you can dump b/f the rear and it still looks great... if you like to fab something up just do the x-pipe kit from summit... i have 89 in my headers back to the rear axle and 102 in the pipes over the rear and 40 in muflers... it just took time an pacence.... let me know if i can help.... good luck

friend of mine told me running a cut out can cause damage to your valve train at high rpm while the engine is winding down.
like say from a hard push taking off from a redlight and running through only first and 2nd gear....
or a track run, where you just climbed 1-4 gears and just let the engine slow it self down(automatics may have this problem cause we dont have a clutch)
any truth to this? can cut outs damage your pushrods and or hydrolic rolling lifters?

GMMG, or LM, my brother has a LM with a chambered section where the resintator goes, it sound close to my GMMG. But a tad louder. Not as raspy as it was before. They both sound awesome!!

To the original poster: I have had two different LS1 cars. The first one I had longtubes, ory, and a Hooker catback. The next one I got, which is the Black WS6 in my sig, I got the same exhaust again. I loved it that much!
Well, after some time went by, I got a cutout for it, then heads/cam. I didnt like the power loss with the cutout closed, as well as how much quieter it was through the muffler. So I wanted a setup that had good power, and sounded good all the time. Solution for me, was true duals with single chambers. I havent been this happy with an exhuast setup in my life. Sound clip in sig if you want to hear it
