Default Sweet, first mod!

I just installed an SLP lid and bellow. The lid was a pain to put on, but I got it. I put it on the first time, but forgot to put in that air temperature sensor. Not knowing I could just pop it in there (had a FUN time getting it out!), I took the lid off again. But putting it on the second time was easier.

I'm so glad. It looks WAY better.

Next up, ported throttle body!

Maybe you already knew, but instead of spending 100$ on a .0005 hp mod that does nothing, you could've went to autozone and bought a piece like that for 2 bucks...

Yeah I know. But I had $170, so I figured I'd order it with the lid, it can't hurt. Besides, it's keeping the SLP theme for now. Plus it just looks better than the stock one.

Be careful you might bblow your rearend with those bad boys

Congrats man, you'll probably end up saying a lot of things like "well I had 170$ so i figured why not"..... "well I had 600$ so i figured why not some longtubes".... "well I had 900$ so i figured why not a cam package".. lol

Looks good though. The mod bug is a love/hate relationship.

a lid is worth bout 10hp

these "bolt on" mods arent really for power only. they do give nice gains for the $$ but they are supporting mods for bigger stuff like heads/cam

You could've left the stock bellows and spend the $$ on something else like P/P throttle body instead of that silly SLP bellow.

Was my first mod as well a couple of weeks ago.. That IAT sensor is a bitch to get out I know lol. Gettin the MAF outta the old resonator is gay as hell too. I noticed easier/smoother acceleration after driving it at first, now the mod bug is biting me in the *** telling me to order some GMMG asap.

That's why I did an SLP lid.. technically, in a way, it's still stock. Besides, with 146k miles, it's nowhere near collector condition. I felt the same way at first, then I just said screw it. I'm going to have to replace the engine sooner or later anyway.

So the bellow really does nothing? I figured it'd do something at least, I mean it makes sense why it would. Oh well. And I plan on porting the TB myself. It's something that if I screw up, I can just buy an already ported TB or a bigger / better one.

And I only drove it once, but the throttle response did seem better. And I like the sound it makes, you can hear it whirring when it sucks in air. (I might be imagining things, but it sure sounds like it).
