The securety light went on on the dash. Its a steady light (doesnt blink). The alarm in the car functions fine. What can I do to correct this.

i have the same thing..i was told a dealer can reset it. dont know why it does that. doesnt seem to matter.

wait till it wont start and leave you stranded somewhere see if dont matter

get it fixed, probably a key/ignition/resistor problem

Yeah, i've sat there fighting with the locking/unlocking trying to get it for an hour before.

Is there a way to reset it yourself? Disconect the battery for a few minutes?

I have the same issue with my car, I unhooked the battery and it did nothing. Hope someone knows.

My car did this to for about 5min I went in went to start the car and my security light was on had no ******* clue what it was but it wouldn't start the car..so i sat there for 5min and tryed again and it started and went off. I have no clue what that was about lol

I couldnt tell you, but i've had it happen to me about 6 times. Wait about 5 mins, the light will go off, then you can start it. I couldnt tell you what causes it, though.
