I like'em both, I would of bought a Z28 had there been one in the area. All I could find was an SS, so I bought an SS. Doesn't make a difference to me, just as long as its a 6-speed and an LS1.

My SS is a non-optioned SLP car, meaning I just have badges, hood, and a spolier. It IS in fact a true SS, just no factory SLP options.

I got my SS for 8k, and Z's ( what i WAS looking for ) we're the same price. So I bought the one with the nicer hood and spoiler. <-- Those are what you have to ask if the extra price is worth it to you or not for.

I agree.

When I bought my Z28, all I was looking for was a VERY low mileage, mint condition LS1 Camaro. I really didn't care if it was a Z28 or an SS, as I like them equally.

Well its like this lol,
If your loud & proud and like to scream "LOOK AT ME" ~ Pullease , look at me ! Look at my racing hood scoop & super dooper racing spoiler cause I'm bad , bad to the bone . You really dig impressing all the other teenagers & ricers don't you !
Well all thats fine and dandy , if your a teenager. But a spiced up Z/28 with all the decals & fake hood scoops & ricer wings don't do a thing to make it any faster than the big Z except add weight. Its all just so much fluff & no more grunt. So the SS guys best not be looking down their noses at Z owners. In the end they just paid MORE money to not go any faster !

I used to own a 1998 SS, and now I own a 2001 Z28. Aside from the suspension being a little softer on the Z28, and the wing / hood, they are the same car. I also used to have some of the SS / 1le stuff on my Z28, but its mostly gone now. I really like the looks of the SS better, but I'd rather just have the Z28 and pocket the extra $3500 or so for mod money.

Hey man , that's a clean lookin Z in your picture. Now ya'll see what I mean. Just look at those smooth clean lines. It appears much more aerodynamic without all of the protrusions stickin out in the wind stream. The big Z is like streamline man , smooth & rounded ~ ready for business . Like a really good lookin bitch man.

You make yourself sound jealous of SS owners. Doesn't matter to me if its an SS or Z28,they're both sweet cars.

I just think its funny to think they are different at all. Its just a different hood and spoiler. Its a smaller difference than the color of the car. My color preference when Im picking a car is wayyy more important than what hood it has.

in a way u are right, is not just the spoiler and the hood though , you forgot the exhaust, wheels, stripes, suspension,SLP options, front grill, ground effects. Ik now that for a fact cause my SS came with all this ****, no wonder the SS package was $4K extra, otherwise who will pay that money just for a spoiler and a hood,I mean the power is same but the SS supossed to be the nicer racier version, thast just my own opinion
