Default Hey!

Check it out! my mass airflow sensor went out on my 01ta and im gonna replace it but would it be better if i replaced it with an after market MAF such as an SLP, or just go back to the stock version. Also is it hard to install a MAF? thanks!

Stock version will suffice up to 500 hp I believe.

Very easy to install, just do not touch the small wires inside it. They are really delicate. Air lid off, hose off maf ends, remove 4 screws that hold the maf ends on. Reverse instructions to put it back together.

so does that mean the stock version is better or would SLP be ok i read that SLP can run up to a 600 HP engine

My buddies car actually dyno'd better numbers with the stock TB than the SLP TB. You should get a factory one and send it out to get ported and polished.

I think stock is the way to go. When first bought my car I bought a 85mmmaf and it slowed me down .2 in the 1/4 unless you are going to have a tune done it is not worth it.

Save yourself a ton of money, and stick with a stocker. You can get a used one on here for pretty cheap, and the SLP MAFs dont do ****.

Stock can pretty much go all day. Ive read a lot of problems down the line when people upgrade the MAF, usually when it comes time to tune the car.

How do you know the MAF is no good any more?
