Default stock 2001 SS- took her to the track

well i was being stubborn about a an 01 SS M6 and i finally picked it up. 10k miles. rally red. cloth int. slp dual dual, slp grill and carpets. anyway the following wednesday .. my 3 runs..

#1
a 13.4 @ 106._ slip but i threw it out haha

#2
13.361 @ 106.32 ... 2.140 60'

#3
13.348 @ 105.75 ... 2.138 60'

i find it odd that my trap was higher by a good couple tenths and wound up making a slower ET. i didnt spin and i slipped the clutch more aggressively so it should have been a faster trap.

oh well im happy but i would have out of liked to get a 13.20 out of it

I think those are pretty good times for a stock car at the track for the first time.

What's the elevation and climate where you are at?

Put you some Long Tube Headers and a nice set of Nitto's and you'll be deep into the 12's

Good runs however....you may be able to clean them up a bit with soem fancy clutch work. Killer....keep it up.

With my bone-stock 2002 Camaro SS Convertible, it was really breaking the tires loose on the 1 - 2 shift. Now I shift to 2nd at 5K and run the rest of the gears out to 6K - my fastest BONE-STOCK ET has been 13.12 @ 109

You might want to give that a shot (if you're still on the stock rubber)
