Personally, I would not do a turbo setup for a track car. I do road courses and the heat generated from the turbos would definitely need to be considered. It gets hot under there as is. You would definitely want a cooler for ALL fluids. Then you have the issue of keeping the rpms where you need them to get out of the curve where you lay into the throttle not stomp it. I would imagine that a turbo would not be as good as a H/C setup for this. As for the car type, I have yet to have a serious challenge from a C6 at the track except for the C6Z. Those things are in a different league in the right hands. Its all about the driver.

I would either be choosing between the Z06 or C6 if it was me. The Z06 has a ton of suspension upgrades from the stock C5s, and if you put the same parts on it, you would actually spend more(stock parts/prices are high). The C6 looks a little better in my opinion, but I just have a bad taste in my mouth because of popup headlight motors failing on me. They're expensive to replace.

I'd say C5 Z06, and +1 for the h/c setup for roadracing.

WS6..... looks the best by far. Has the LS1, and its cheaper than both. Plus the C5 is just an overpriced f-bomb anyway.

From what it sounds like, you are mainly interested in making an all out race car as your primary concern seems to be what you are doing to it from a peformance stand point. You even stated that it will not be a DD so you aren't interested in ride and comfort...etc...

In that case, why wouldn't you just go for something very cheap and lite like an older F-bod (possibly a 3rd gen) or a C4 vette and just pour all that money you would save into go fast/handling goodies??

Just an idea...Because the way I see it,you don't seem into the actual cars but more into the potential you could reach in creating a racing project...If I'm reading it wrong than my apologies...

Good luck on your choices...BTW I vote F-Bod.Not because its the best candidate for your intentions but because I just think they are "cooler".Much more of a muscle car which is what I like while the vette is much more of a sportscar.

I have had an 11 sec T/A. It was fun but i am gunning for a C6. I drove both the C5 Z and the C6 and i love the C6 better overall.
