Default vette/fbody?

I am wondering what the difference is between a c5 vette and a 4th gen fbody? I know they are on different platforms. Similarities would be engine and both have a composite body? I think the vettes have IRS? So could someone give a general idea of other differences in chassis, driveline, brakes, ect.?

Thanks the help with the newb question

Well I already own an ss and love it. I just asked because many people on the first time in my car comment on how it reminds them of a vette. Its just odd, because if I mention something of it, people are just blow it off, but then impressed after seeing it and riding it in

i would assume these people probly dont have much experience w/ c5's, our ls1 f-bodys are just as fast or faster than other vettes (not c5+). but the major difference is weight and handling (irs).

I have never ran a vette, but I think it would be a drivers race against a c5

and yes, the people that make comments comparing it to the vette are not car enthusiasts.

Ive owned both, and while i dont want to take anything away from F-Bods becouse they are amazing cars, Riding around in a F-Bod does not compare to a Vette.

The handling, weight, Interior and stance of the Vette make it a totally different experience, you dont feel as if your in a brute strength muscle car, but you know your in a world class performance car. My Vette inspires alot more confidence in me then my F-Bod did, the suspension and balance is amazing.

Now for Stock for Stock straightline race, meh its a toss up between F-Bod and Vette, some Vettes are slower and same for F-Bods.

Best thing i can advise ya is go drive a Vette, if you fall in love buy one, if you dont spend more money on your Camaro

If u r looking for a vette, get a Z06! If u buying to mod, get a ls1 F-body and you'll make it faster then vette's, thats what I'd do
