It's not good for newborn/toddlers. You have to have a rear-facing car seat for kids under 45 lbs I believe it is. I know in 2000 that started having those teathers in the back hatch area, but those attach to foward facing car seats. I don't think it's recommended to attempt to put a rear facing one in.

I had a rear facing in mind for the whole first year. There is no problem with it. Tho you do have to be a little short for whichever seat it goes behind. also dont use the base that come with most car seats. And once you switch to a forward facing one then its all good. if your worried about it then bring the car seat and car by a fire department and most of the time they know proper positioning of car seats and they will help...
Anyone that says its not ok is wrong.

Yeah it's no problem. I can't remember the brand I had for the first baby seat but the base fit fine. I believe it was a Graco. Once they hit 20 pounds and 1 year I believe you can put them front facing. My boy loves the car. I use the seat belt with the little metal T fitting to keep it from slipping and it's completely secure. I sit in the seat with one knee while setting up the seatbelt and buckling it so it's real secure. Buy one of those mats to protect your seats. Will probably have to cut the mat up a bit to make it fit properly.

I don't see why you couldn't put one in. You might have to put it on the RH side with the front seat a little up. My old commuter car was a 2 door civic and I had no trouble with one, and using a base (those bases are great).

My 3 year old uses a seat similar to the one in the pic above, and it belts right in to the 77 Z28 w/o any problem.

Go to Toys R US (or whatever store) and tell them you want to test fit it in the car. I would think they would let you.

And yes, infant seats face backwards.

That's cute Griff..that kid's first words are goin to be "I wanna go fast.."
My friend Bene carries his kids all the time in his car..that's all he's got. I have no Back Seat in my Car..baby seat doesn't belong in a Race Car IMO..then again I am single and don't have any kids I know about..
