Default What do you think?

We'll im currently in the market for a car, theirs a few f-bodies around here for sale. Just need help deciding what i should go for:

Note: transmission is not a big deal, i live in a pretty stop and go city, but i don't mind a manual, so auto or manual is not a preference really.

98 automatic Z28, magnaflow catback already, full options besides leather, 96k miles for $5,500 (Dealer)

95 6 speed formula, SLP exaust/hooker headers/msd ignitiotion,full options, including leather 61k miles $7,000 (Private seller)

2000 automatic SS convertable, 30k miles, stock, $13,000 (dealer)

89 speed manual vette, 40k miles, stock, not sure on price,( private seller.)

Any help would be appriciated.

id grab that SS i mean a 2000 with 30,000 miles, pretty low and from what i have heard expensive to find, but 13,000 seems like a deal im no expert, however after tax/title youll probably be around 15.5 or so

I would take the SS, only because of the low miles that it has, and yes that price is a steal IMO.

30k miles is low, what color is it?

Navy blue, the 98 is mystic teal metallica chamelleon, the firebird is polo green, the vette is like a brick red.

Don't buy the Vette. Any of the other cars you listed would chew that thing up and it out. Too bad the Formula is green cause that woulda been my choice. Stick with the SS! You won't be disappointed.

We'll I just wen't and talked to him, the guy who has the dealership lives next to the place (Iv done business with him before) So I went to check the SS out more this morning. The reason it is so cheap (theres a list..)

1. A/C doesnt work
2. The top leaks
3. Has the premium bose sound system, however, the back speakers are blown.

The firebird in question, i found would need new tires, and I want to put some rims on it, so that would cost me a extra chunk of change.

the 98, seems fine from all i can tell, might need new brakes the guy said, but they gripped nice.

Might go with the 98 :S

speakers are nothing, a/c not that big of a problem, and tops leaking on an f-bod without chassis improvements are typical. You might see if you can use that as leverage to drive him down. /\ But at 5.5 that would be my choice too.

Id go with the SS, rear speakers blown isnt unusual in an f-body, the a/c would be my only concern but it might just need a recharge. As for the top did they say how it leaks. I have a convertible and it only barely drips from the side window seals during down pours and again not even enough that would be considerd a leaking top, hell my old 2000 camaro t-top leaked more. The 98 doesnt sound like too bad of a deal either. lt1 formula would be last on the list for me.

Why don't you like the vert? I think they are pretty cool actually, kind of nice to cruise around with the top down

If you have the money go with the SS, if you plan on modding the crap out of the car go with the z28 and use the money saved for mods.
