If it was REALLY cold outside, yeah , I might worry. But it's September. And if you worry about it get some rags to shove into the collectors when you park it.
my bad haha thought he had manifolds

This one is from my shop when I installed my gears. I have true duals so I had to slip them off to get the driveshaft to hang. I couldnt get in and the torque wrench I used kept slipping off the pedal but this is a pretty good idea of LT's and stock cam. up to only 4kish before the wrench slipped. And yes it does sound better at 6k

i have never run open headers on my F-body when i had it but my '96 LT1 did have LT's and ORY and an electric 3" cutout. Under WOT the thing sounded like a Stock car but I LOVED it. People i passed didn't much appreciate it though

well on my lil 6 cyl opening up the test pipe helps ALOT , but then again its not a camaro either, if your gona run open headers for a while, get some collector extensions, if they will clear im still new to F bodys, that will help with any torque it MIGHT lose in the low range.

im running two 16'' extensions off my collectors. cost 20 bucks at some exhaust place. and they fit fine, sometimes they rub on the floorboard, but its not that bad.

That will fix any problems possibly associated with open headers. Other than your ears, that is.

i drove my ws.6 like that for like 6 months...(lt1 car though). it was loud and obnoxious, but honestly u get used to it. as long as u dont have gears or anything(mine had 3.23's) you can keep it SOMEWHAT quiet if u keep your foot out of the gas. it may be a completely different story for ls1's though. and keep in my that im "one of those punk *** 17 year old kids with those fast loud cars" so age is a factor too i guess...

When I had my dual cutouts immediately after my headers it sounded ridiculously awesome. I'm gonna have to get a pair of electric cutouts in place one day.
