I always liked the stock hurst with a short stick. It is very nice. Just get a short stick somewhere for $20 and see how you like it. It is a nice improvement.

Thanks-I just bought the 6''short shaft. Your right can't go wrong with $25. I hope I like it. Still interested in short throw though..

The guys that don't swear by the hurst swear by the B&M or Pro 5.0

I know the B&M is a one piece unit, but my hurst with short stick feels great.

Like stated above, you may be happy with just a short stick with your factory hurst shifter. If the throws still aren't short enough for you, try a B&M Ripper or a Pro 5.0 shifter.

I have a Pro 5.0 with a Lou's short stick. I feel its a pretty good combo. Sometimes it feels like it already knows where to go without my guidence

That sound's nice- I just heard the 5.0 isn't good for DD b/c it's so noisey? In my last two races I've missed third-thus the reason I've created this thread.

Its not that noisey. It vibrates just a little bit with you hand on the shifter.
It can be driven daily - no problem.

I Second that, it's not noisey at all it just vibrates alittle. Very Crisp shifts and i didn't even have the Lou Short stick.

Too bad you already ordered your stick. New ERA performance has a new Stainless steel weighted stick that they are going to be releasing here real soon thats a very nice piece for $35. I know for a fact that its a nice piece.

What's so great about it? Besides better machining, how can you improve a piece of metal.

Well better machining is a start. Not to mention it is weighted for a smoother shift. It is stainless steel instead of Chrome plated mild steel. It has a nice bend in the stick to put the shifter in an optimal position yet it still does not hit the console like may aftermarket shifters. Thats how you can improve a piece of metal.

The B&M shifter is really good! If you can't afford it though, the WS6 store shorter stick isn't too bad. You just have to like the feel of the hurst. Since you did, it may not be a bad choice...

I have a B&M, can't compare it to the stock, as it was installed when I bought the car. I can tell you that I only learned to drive standard 2 weeks before I picked up the car and I've barely had any problems with missed shifts, not noisy, very accurate. The few people that have driven it besides me have commented how smooth and accurate my car shifted.

get the pro 5.0 and you will never miss a 2nd to third shift or a 4th to 5th shift.
