https://ls1tech.com/acronyms.html
this will help with the terms used. i always say you want the air coming in and out freely your car needs to breath just like you do also one of the best ways to improve acceleration and handeling is good tires.

what do you want to improve on the car looks-acceleration-deceleration-handeling-all the little things? just post what you want and we will try our best to help.

dependson your priorities...what you want done first...
personally i would do the power slot rotors and hawks brake pads..cant go wrong there..because stopping is just as important as haulin a$$...then the air lid, K&N Filter, MSd wires, LT headers and exhaust, gears and get used to it while you save up money for the next mod...

ah, i remember the days, not knowing anything except that i love these cars...you are in the right place bro. lots of good info on here, i have learned so much over the last year and you will too. tell us some more about the car, what color, miles, options, yada yada. i say intake and exhaust first, and then go from there. let us know how this new project comes along... good luck and thanks for serving.

One thing that was mentioned was nitrous. Exhaust, headers(lt), and a friggin dry kit like a 100 shot. Nitrous is fun. As far as money goes, you can do all of the above for less than a grand if you wanted too.

i am from fairbanks too, well for another 2 weeks until i ets. i would hold off on the mods til after winter. rwd and alaska don't mix too well. tuning is going too be your biggest hurdle. all the tuners are in anchorage and they only open the 1st weekend of every month. don't know about the winter though. what unit are you with and what does your car looks like?

In my opinion the following mods would be good to start off with...
Pacesetter Longtubes w/Off Road Y-Pipe
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...id=182&catid=8
SLP Loud Mouth 1 or 2 or Magnaflow Catback Exhaust System
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/cate...MID=1&catid=46
SLP Lid
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=482

You could also do something like a Complete brake package from TR and after that depending on what your goals are for the car you can always go with a nice Heads & Cam + Nitrous setup and be good to go or you could always look into a Procharger or Turbo kit but all these mods entirely depend on what your goals are for your car...

The best advice I could give you Bro is to take your time and do some research on whatever it may be that you'd like to do with your car. Chances are, just about anything you can think of doing to your car performance wise, there's someone or many people on this site that have already done it. Speaking from experience and at the same time still learning more about my car, just make sure you take your time and do things right the first time...

Call Ron at Vengeance Racing in ATL. They will steer you in the right direction. Vengeance Racing is one of the Sponsors on the right hand side of your screen. They might even fly out to do the work on your car, or tune it for you. They built a car that's up in Norway, so you never know.

Good Luck on your build.

I've been asking around. So far all I've heard is exhaust wakes them up. And pretty seriously. Headers and REAL EXHAUST (no cats sorry epa! c'mon)!!!! I think besides the free ram air and exhaust nitrous is about the only serious gains you will see for not much money.
About the brakes, if you haven't noticed, the pedal feel is great along with the stopping power, besides the real track racers, any good pad will do just fine. You want real stopping power?!?!?!?!? Try some real tires, any real enthusiast will agree.

mabey you can get some snow chains and a plow for the winter, jk. definatley read the "so you wanna be fast" thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361959 great starting place and buy some books about the ls1. will handzel's book "how to build high-performancechevy ls1/ls6 v-8s" has tons of info and some history of the lsx motors. great buy. and like everyone else said read this forum, especially the stickies. use the search tab at the top of the page, alot. but best of all find other f-body geys to hang out with and share the f-body experience.

Just keep poking you head around the forum and keep gaining a little more knowledge. And just remember, there are no dumb questions when it comes to performance. Everyone has to start somewhere. There shouldn't be any problems with the conditions up there, I wouldn't drop the ride height very much with a set of springs pending on how far north you are in Alaska. Buddy of mine had a 02 Firehawk in Kodiak. As for performance I would have to agree with everyone else above. If the roads are rough up there, get a set of Sub-frame Connectors ASAP and save your chassis now on top of that. I'm regreting not getting them sooner.
