Launch, Burnout, EtC.
Just bought a 01 WS6 last week, and am done getting used to the car, and want to have a little fun Only for some reason i cant launch, the car will bog down then barely go forward, and i cant burnout. Sorry for a newbie question(im only 17), but i dont want to mess up clutch any more. Any help will be appreciated.

you can use a heel/toe on the brake/gas and your left foot on the clutch.. i fried my clutch trying to learn this,
its easyest to just hammer the throttle dropclutch and press the brake as fast as you can.. that way the car will jump forward a little bit and then start "burnouting"
but.. just get a line lock,,

Dear God, please be careful. I am only 19, so I say this with experience. You are very young, and naive. Do not for one minute assume that you got a handle on the car. It will get away from you, bet that. Never assume you know what you are doing, and if you are trying to learn how to a do a burnout, I can only assume you plan to make a pass or two, or do something stupid. Drive normal for awhile, and don't get too over confident. If you think I'm kidding, I'll PM you pictures of my first car in tiny bits and pieces, spread all over the place.
Once you get a better idea of the car, start to have some fun with it. I'm only 19, and have a little 347 to have fun with, and I still think it's too much power for someone my age to have.

Like the other guy said. You are NOT done getting used to the car. I bought mine when I was 16. It is now a year and a half later I'm almost 18 and am just now beginning to think I know my car enough to do stuff with it. The rear end on these cars hops out pretty easily in my experience and if you don't knwo what you are doing you are gunna get bit.
To answer you question turn the TCS off, that's what my problem was.

Yes do be careful. Don't get overconfident, especially after driving the car only a week. I've seen pics of what has happened when someone is overconfident and ends up losing it. Anywhere from fender benders to absolute destruction of the car and driver. Do not become another statistic.

Take your time learning your car, you have nothing but time, and that car isnt going anywhere. If your not comfortable with your car and your out on the street tryin to burnout etc.... you could hurt yourself or other people. IMO learn your car have fun driving it an if HAVE to burnout or practice launching, do it in empty parking lot or somwhere where you wont harm any other people. Welcome to the F-body crowd!

Be smart about how you drive. Take calcualted risks; but keep in mind, you don't always know what's going to happen. Regardless of skill, or experience things go wrong.
Get used to the car first. Hell, I'm only 18...I was in your shoes a little while ago. I got myself comfortable with an LT1 car, and took it out one (cold) night. I broke traction shifting into 4th gear, and almost ended up in the ditch.
Just remember - you can't predict everything.
