When you line up with him (from a dig), brake torque or "stall" the car (one foot on brake, one on gas), then let go of the brake and mash the gas. If you get some tire spin back off the gas just a hair, when you catch grip roll back into the throttle.
edit: just noticed the 350Z is an auto, he has no chance in hell...

Well, I just talked to that guy, and the race is definitely on. He thinks he can beat me! He's not to the point of cocky, but he's definitely getting there. I'm going to seal the hood to airbox gap, and then I'll run him. I think it will be the weekend after this coming weekend. And to think, I heard that the new 2007 350zs could keep up with ls1s on 350z boards. Over there, they say the EXACT opposite of what you guys have said. There is like one guy with an f-body over there, and he is continually bashed. His cars are called "slow", "trash", and "redneck". Either way, I can't wait till this goes down. Any more advice would be welcome, and thanks to all input so far. Keep it coming.

Look at the facts:
98-02 LS1 Fbodies M6 or A4 run low 13s @104-108 bone stock, some break into the 12s. They all make 350hp/375ft.lbs of torque, give or take and weigh around 3500lbs.
07 350Z with the M6 are capable of low 13s @ 104ish, most see low 14s though. The 5 speed auto version doesn't have the gearing to make up for the lack of torque (or weaker powerband).
The 07 350Z's make 306hp/270ft.lbs, and weigh around 3200-3300lbs.
BTW, you are running premium 91+ gas right?

Traction control reduced spark advance and applies the brakes to retain traction. Definitely turn it off.
The guys over there are full of ****. The best 350Zs post high 13s stock. LS1s post mid to low 13s stock.

I dont know why, but 350Z owners seem to be getting to the bottom of the barrel near the Honda owners in attitude/ignorance.

He's done. There's a guy around here with a 350Z that got his *** handed to him by a LT4 vette. Another buddy of mine beat the guy in his stock GTO. All these cars were manuals.
I never understood why people try to make fun of f bods calling them redneck cars or mullet mobiles. Everywhere I go I turn heads with mine. Sometimes when I'm on the pkwy and am easing past someone in the left lane I've had guys look over and give me a thumbs up
When I pull into parking lots, or set at stoplights, there always seems to be someone looking over.
I just think the people that make fun are jealous...
Get a camera and a ride along buddy to film the race. Then post it up on those 350Z websites and here on tech

Whoop his *** for me. I hate rich kids whose parents buy them brand new cars in HS. I just graduated, and I had a Cobra in HS. I also built a badass 5.0 in my spare time. I especially hate 350 Z's. You should whoop his *** good. Try going from a 35 mph roll if you've got the 2.73's.

Well okay guys, thanks for the input. I have 3.23 gears. I've also noticed how much of a pain in the *** tc is. I'm going to practice launching alot with it off. I'm going to take a buddy along to film it as well... can't wait!
