So I just got my 02 WS6 (advice needed)
I just got a black/black 02 WS.6 A4. It's beautiful (pics coming soon). This guy at my school just got a new 07 350Z. He's automatic and completely stock. My T/A is stock expcept for a new flowmaster exhaust system put on by the previous owner. He's asked me to race already...
Should I run him? I'm not sure I can win, but I think I have the advantage. Also, what exactly do you think my T/A would be able to take on streetwise?
Thanks

your defiantly oing to win, our cars are under rated. You can take most things on the street import wise but going by your input that your in school id guess your going to figure out what you can take soon enough. I know, im only 18 and done my share of stupid **** with more to come. Be careful with that ws6, nobody wants to see pictures of a wrecked f-body.

my buddy with a ws6 same year had the same problem at UCF here in orlando.
outcome: he told me he got up to 150mph against him. i asked him " you had to get up that high from a dig to beat him"...his reply : " hell no, i had him owned by second gear, but just felt like flooring it more."
conclusion you would massacare him. the nissan 350z is a nice car, but if he is stock, tell him if he wants to feel the wrath of the ls1 put the money where his mouth is, if not go drift elsewhere.

sounds nice. Black on black WS6... talk about a head turner.
As far as what cars to run on the street. Not many stock cars are faster than a LS1 F-body. So really you should be able to at least hang with 99% of cars on the road. The new mustangs and some older cobra's and Mach-1's are your closest/best races. Not sure what the new 350Z's run but im sure you are just as fast. So run him and make him realize he just spent 30K and went backwards. HA!

Race that kid and own the **** out of him, 350z's run like 14.8 bone stock, hell I even smoked one in my Speed6 and it barely runs high 13's in the quarter.
How can you **** talk a WS6? It has to be one of the meanest and slickest looking cars made in recent history, my dream car has been a 98-02 WS6 Black/Black...

I gotta try that! Hey vai, dont be affraid of a good race, even when you know your gonna lose, evry bit of practice helps. Dont worry about Z's, I raced one when my SS was stock, he had all the typical ricer mods, and i raced him from a light and from a roll.....complete slaughter, he didn't have a chance. What you should be worried about if your stock is cobras and vettes. But losing to a vette isn't bad cuz it's still an lsx!

350 Zs run mid to high 14s stock, with a few in the low 14s. Ls1 F-bodies run mid to low 13s stock, with a few breaking into the upper 12s. No contest unless you drive poorly, even if he's got minor mods.
My 02 WS6 ran 13.05 at 112 with the free mods listed below, a lid, and 285/40 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 rear tires.
On a side note, the Flowmasters are horrible on LS1 vehicles. At best they will only perform as well as the stock exhaust. I'd suggest upgrading exhaust ASAP. Most people start modding with the purchase of an air lid, since they're only about $100 and are good for 7-10rwhp over the stock lid.
I'd recommend starting with the free mods. They'll give you a lot better responsiveness and cheap rwhp.
Port & polish the throttle body: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....6&postcount=22
Bump stop mod: http://www.installuniversity.com/ins..._bump_stop.htm
Throttle body coolant bypass: You can buy kits, or just pick up a long enough hose to do it yourself. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins.../tb_bypass.htm
Debaffle, at minimal the rear one: http://www.geocities.com/brian98ramair/Baffle.html
Seal your hood to airbox gap. From the factory, the WS6 hood is an ineffective cold air intake, due to the restrictive baffles and the 1" gap that exists between the hood and the airbox when the hood is closed. Debaffling and sealing the hood will create a true CAI, reducing IATs, and a ram air effect at speeds above 50mph. You can buy kits to seal http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...d106b8e68bbde1 or create your own. Here's my Lowes $25 setup

I have a 99 ws6 black on black also in highschool, I raced a Z 3 months after I got the car from a dig and smoked him through second they dont have the power that you do, Just race him for fun if he some how manages to get you o well good race but 99 times out of 100 you will win as long as you dont spin coming out of the dig.
