Keep in mind , a car with all hwy miles might have more life then a car with 30k and had the crap driven out of it. With that said , although I never had engine trouble, I know a couple guys personally that spun bearings from after a high RPM run or doing a burn out sitting close to redline even on stock motors. And If I remember the same thing happened to the 98 SS that was on horsepower TV spun a bearing after doing some burnouts.

So my motor is bone stock with almost 160k miles now. Thanks to the first owner, about 3/4 of the miles were highway miles.
Because the engine has a lot of miles, I've never pushed it over 5000 rpms yet in fear of bending a pushrod or something. Should I keep doing what I'm doing or am I just being too paranoid?

I have a 123K on mine, took it to redline a few times. I bought it for the same reason as you did, nice torquey DD. I love shifting at 2K and keeping up with traffic.
That and I'm spoiled, I rev the Honda out to 8500+ so 6K just seems so pointless to me
