New engines? (in case mine blows)
Just curious as to where I can find a brand new short block (in stock form) in case the one I have blows? The cheapest I've found so far is $2700.

if you blow your motor most of the time your block will be fine, esp an ls1 block, just have it rebuilt with new sleeves and pistons/etc for a lot cheaper than that, or do it how everone else on this board would do....UPGRADE!!!!

LS6 crate motor from SDPC. I got mine and with headers and a lid I put 360 to the tire with a completely safe tune AF are 13.0 all the way across. Stock idle, stock drivabilty and I have surpreised more than my share of Vettes and other F-body's. Mustangs don't count because they are too easy MOST of the time.

LS1s Can't be resleeved unless your gonna go Darton.
But like I said earlier,.. If the core is in sound condition then I'd just invest in a forged bottom end. HELL,.. you can still reuse the stock Crank(if your gonna stay with stock cubes) as long as you didn't spin a bearing. Reuse the stock heads but have em milled and you can run a higher compression ratio.
