mufflers... i have the flowmaster american thunder set up right now but what is the best muffler for sound? i've heard good things about the super 40s but i dont have oo much experience with these exhaust setups...thanks

yeah me either...i used to have a mustang and flowmaster were great for them and im still new to the f-body stuff so i need to learn all the good stuff lol...i want a really good sounding muffler

flowmasters do not really sound that good on our cars...if you want a good sounding muffler check out magnaflow's racing series mufflers or borla's mufflers...you will be satisfied...if you want a louder sound check out slp's (or any brand) resonator mufflers

I'd suggest checking out some of the sponsor links on that long, grocery list to the right. Personally, I've been doing my part shopping through Texas Speed and Speed Inc., but that is only because I'm too lazy to look elsewhere (haven't bought much yet). Start looking at the sponsor stuff, and check out www.ls1sounds.com if you want to hear some of these exhaust setups before you buy - some are pretty loud while others are like muzzles.
GMMG (with cats) sounds good IMO, if you want to stay with a y-pipe. www.ls1sounds.com will help you a lot with your decision. Different strokes for different folks.
Also, are you just replacing the cat back, or the headers/ypipe too? Headers, cats, and piping (x, h, y) have a noticeable effect on sound.
IMHO, I like my dumped Sweet Thunders (true duals). At low rpm's, it's tame enough to not attract too much fuzz, but screaming around redline, it makes me shed a tear.
