Default Full alignment?

I have a 1999 Z28/A4. I've heard my car will need a full alignment...front and back. Is this true, and if it is, do they physically move my rear axle. Do ya'll recommend a dealer doing this?

The rear is measured for refrence only, this determines the thrust angle.(makes sure your car is tracking straight. There are no provisions from the factory to make any adjustments back there. It is possible to tweak things a bit if you have adjustable parts in the rear (mainly lower control arms), but unless it was wrecked or something it should be straight. My personal opinion is to go to an independant tire shop (not a chain), but dealer should be ok.

Do not have them do a 4 wheel alignment. They will try and sell you that crap and say we need to measure the rear, blah blah blah. That is for reference anyways so they aren't adjusting anything. A front end alignment is what you need.

Any "competent" shop should be able to do a four wheel alignment for under $80.00.

The printout still shows the rear specs even if its just a front wheel alignment. And as said above, the rear is non adjustable from the factory.
