Default Got 2 problems....

I have 2 problems that I need help with. I just got a 1999 Z28 Camaro about 1 week ago and I am not driving it yet so I am trying to work out some of the little kinks and problems.

1- I was taking the parking lights out today to get the 3 yes 3 burnt out bulbs. Well I took all of the 40 bolts out that hold all of the plastic junk under the car out. I disconnected the 2 bulbs. Took the 3 bolts the hold the actual housing in, and now it just wiggles around in there. Its pretty loose but I cant manage to pull the whole thing out. The reason why I want to get it out is cause one of the bulbs broke in it, and there is a ton of moisture in the housings. What do you suggest?

2- I took my car to the dealership to get a new key fob programed and it works great, except the fact when I unlock my car and I slam the door shut the alarm will go off. It only happens when I unlock it, wait about 30 seconds and the lights flash then if I slam the door the alarm goes off?

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks

My buddy is gonna come check it out tonight and see if he can get it. Thanks tho... I will let you know. I just didn't know if there was a trick. My old LT1 4th gen I had was easy but for some reason I cant get it out of the little slot it drops into.

Just another quick question, how much torque does a stock LS1 make?

Thanks!

So I talked to my buddy and he said that the alarm thing is normal, it is a safety thing, in case you forget to lock your car...idk...at least that is the way it is with his 5.0, they could be different but he said it does exactly the same thing.

And as for the parking lights, I had to take the headlights out and get them from the top, then I had to get some pliers and push together where the bumper and the fender come together. then one side of the parking light would pull out. I think it was just the aftermarket bumper that was holding it up.

Thanks for the help tho!!!

There's a sensitivity adjustment on the shock sensor to your alarm in the spare tire area. You probably need to adjust it.

Also, with these cars I wouldn't ever slam the door. They're not as heavy as they look and the window regulators are very fragile. A couple good slams and your windows are going to rattling over every little bump

Is the shock sensor pretty self explanatory to adjust?

Ended up just unplugging the coolant level sensor, the alarm is all messed up now, goes off at random times, I have to lock my doors manually now.

I think I am gonna just disconnect the stock alarm system

just take it back to the dealership, if they caused the problem to begin with, they should fix it
