which rear

ok so im kinda new to the whole domestic car scene. but i have a 2002 collectors edition trans am 6 speed. and im gonna be throwing in some 4.30 gears. i know i have a 10 bolt. but dont know what size the rear is. i need to know so i can order them up. thankssss.

But you have a GM 10 bolt that is a POS.

yea thats what ive herd. but im lookin for size like 7.5 7.625 or 8.5.

its 7.5"

i hope youre either turning it into a drag car or dont care about gas mileage at all with those gears

yea well i dont really mind i work five miles away. and we have a wed night car show/ drag race meet. and im sick of these mustangs talkin there ****. im bringin something for them.

thats wont be hard but if its 1/4 mile i would do 4:10s

7.5's. As said, go with 4.10's. 4.30's will run out of gear in 4th in the 1/4.

I had 10 bolt 4.30's and exploded(no joke) my rear.......I would go 3.90's in a 10 bolt and thats as far as I would go....IMO I'm running those gears in my 10 and it's fine for me.
