Cool. Why shorties? Get LTs. Appearence sounds good (not really my cup of tee, but then the stock ws6 appearence is all i can really ask for). I like the cam. A little smaller than mine, but I think it will make great low end torque. Why 373 gears? Is the car gonna see any track time?

You got a hp # in mind? What, about 420???? Who is gonna tune it? Tell us more about your setup, it looks to be solid!

Weighed in at about 3260lbs Chassis weight the last time I weighed it, still had the LT1 then.
I figure I'm about the same give/take 10lbs now still with the new 402 LSX Stroker and other things. With the Roll Cage it will be heavier.

Mods: AC Delete, Spare Tire Delete(Jack is still in it), Back Seat Delete.

Bone stock when I got it with everything in it factoring Gas out roughly weighed in at 3325lbs.

Just from GM's info when the last f-bods came out, the Formula is the lightest of the group. They hung in the low 3400 range depending on car, options, and fluctuations in build materials (ie: a few pounds here and there) and assembly. Also, the '01 and '02s that were lucky enough to come with the LS6 block will weigh a bit different...not much, but figured I'd mention that too.

I asked this along time ago and got the same results. I then searched every single sticky on this site looking for the stock wieght of a T-top trans am and had no luck. I heard 3417 for a t-top ta but dont know how accurate that is. I think it would be more then that. I wonder if this info can be found in the brochure that the dealerships passed out back in the day. I cant find one of those though. And buy the ways those truck scales are somtimes off by 100 plus lbs.

Mine is around 3650 lbs with me and no weight reduction other than rear seat gone, but with a full size spare in it, which weighs more than the seats.

The best way to find out your weight is to go to a Scale and weight it.. it's like $5 here to do it.
Gas weighs about 6.15lbs per Gallon so do the math with what you think is in your Tank and run with it..

The last time I weighed in came to about 3260lbs Chassis weight.. it was like a little under 1/4 Tank in it, the actal weight on the slip was 3277lbs.

Here there's a local DOT truckscale that is never open. Park your car on it, look in the window and see your weight.

Well shorties so I can pass the visual inspection in cali, then I have a random tech y with high flow cats(so I dont get nailed for a 2500 dollar no cats ticket) and the magnaflow. When inspection time comes around Ill just take out the random tech y and bolt the stocker in really quick like. 3.70 gears, honestly because I dont know much about gearing and If I find the 3.73's are inadequate ill upgrade to 4.10's. No real track time in mind, maybe auto X, Lookin for about 400 at the wheels. Will be installed and tuned by CMS. Thanks for the interest!

Anyone got the broucher from Pontiac or Chevy??????????????? It should be on the specs page. That would clear things up for everyone.

I think theres enough people that have chimed in, now myself included, that it should be fairly clear. With a bit of gas and no one inside, they are about 3400#

How would a "stripper" Formula be lighter than a "stripper" Z28? Just curious as I would think the pop-up headlights and bulkier rear-wing would weigh more...

^^ I agree..

Mine stock when I bought it weighed in at 3320, full weight, nothing stripped out. So far that is the lightest I have seen here, and it's even an LT1 Car..
