The truck stop & weigh station scales are NOT accurate for weighing cars.

You got that right! When I used to drive a gravel truck somtimes it was off a few hundred lbs.

+1 I have read that the Z28 is the lightest, but its only a few lbs lighter than a formula so nothing significant.

+1 for the z28 i also heard its the lightest of the bunch i have no.....
a/c
heater
radio
light carpet
bumper supports
and a bunch more and i am going to take it to the scrap yard and get the to weight it because i no there scales are good with in +/- 30 pounds they are money hungry and dont like to be off on weight i hope they dont try to scrap my car. hahaha

insight on an 04 gto- 3951 with some weight reduction, thats with me in it. havent weighed the z yet but it has to be alot less than that lol

Power windows were standard on T/A's from 93 on (maybe even earlier although i've seen an 87 with crank windows so they weren't standard until at least 88) and power seats were not. Some T/A's like mine had power lumbar and bolster, but no T/A from 93-97 had power sliding tracks. since you say it was a hardtop T/A and we're talking 4th gen's i'm assuming he has a 93-97
