This morning when I crunk my car it ran smooth with no prob. no SES light or anything. And I let it run for bout 10 minutes. Now later on this evening I tried cranking and it wont even idle now and my car shakes violently, and I have a SES light. Gonna put my stall in this weekend. What do you guys think

I would say the lack of tune is causing your problem more so than the lack of a stall. Will it idle in neutral? Either way you need a tune asap.

Tune and drill the hole out in your throttle body (with it off of course). When I did my ms4 it would not idle on its own until I drilled the hole out in the TB. I think I drilled it 1/4 inch. Idles on its own at like 900 now.

No it will not idle in neutral, pretty sure it's not my o2 sensors , because I changed those out 3000 miles ago. Just seems kinda weird that it would run this morning and then 5 hours later it won't.

The computer has to learn the new cam. And a tune is a MUST. My friend just put a cam in his 99 Vette.... we let it run for a bit so the computer learned it, and tuned it 3 days later. Runs perfect. Good luck

Bump for the truth. It would when I FIRST got it done, then it wouldnt stay running, then it would run when cold but once it was warm it wouldnt run. Then I drilled the TB and problem solved until the tune.

You beat me to it so I'll add to it, drilling out the hole will allow more air to come in at idle. That is part of your problem, the other is the tune. Good luck and get us an idle clip.

Just got one ? on that. if I drill out the hole in my TB I know this will allow more in thus causing it to idle higher. So when I get a tune is my car gonna idle higher than normal or is that something required after a cam swap? Normal is a 550-600 rpm and that's where I want it to stay because I love the lope and sound at that level?

that is a decent sized cam and will idle higher. You need a tune, it doesnt surprise me at all that the car wont idle.

I just put the same cam in my car and it idled ok. It was fine on cold start, but hot starts were a little tough. It would take about 30 seconds of me babying it for it to find idle. After my tune, car drives perfect. Good daily driver cam btw.

I didn't drill out the TB. Just drive it straight to the tuner and you will be fine.

you need to put that stall in before you get tuned that way you dont have to waste time going back a second time.

and yeah get a tune. the reason why it idles on a cols start fine is cus the air is more dense and fills the cylinders... once it starts geting warmer the air gets less dense and the engine becomes less efficient (hence the lope, the cylinders are stealing air from one another because there is not enough air for all of them)

now, install that stall and make an appointment ahead of time. a good tuner is always booked.
