First of all, I did not crack up the F-Body. I drove over something in the road, and lost control, not my fault. The person behind me did the same thing, but there was no car in the left lane when was his turn. Yes, I do have the coolest car in schol, but it doesn't mean **** to people. With this damn rap music, all people care about is SUVs on 20s. I hate rap, and I don't drink, so drinking and driving is not an issue. The only person in school with a nicer car is my brothers NEW 2003 Mustang GT. He thinks it is nicer, and so do most kids at school, but his door panels are plastic, and mine have leather?????? What was that,...... yours is nicer,.... I don't think so. Sure, Chevys have a good sum of plastic, but it has a nice finish to it, unlike the mustang. If you save, good things happen, I am living proof, I have one of my dream cars, at 16, I know for sure, I'm going to tell my son or daughter to save. At 2 dollars a day you will have over 11,000 buy the time your reach 16.

 

I have a 2001 SS A-4,all stock with no air lid the car went 13.52@107.65 in the heat.What you have sounds normal to me...BTW if you spun tires through 2 gears with traction control on you have a faulty tc and should get that fixed.

 

i was going to say the same thing.. you should be able to get about 1/2 to 1 rotation of tire with ASR on. If you get more without the the go pedal trying to buck you off then you have a problem. My 2K2 A4 will smoke the tires completely through 1st and 2nd gears with no trouble whatsoever. also i've beaten modded SS's. my car ran a 13.6 with serious traction problems on stock tires at an elevation of 3100ft and a DA of 4700' I consider my car quick but not a freak.. all this with a whopping dyno of 302rwhp and 308rwtq.. I'm sorry to dissapoint but your car is not a freak. also new tires freshly mounted are MUCH easier to spin than tires with a few hundred miles on them. .02

I think numerous others with much more wisdom have clarified the issue as well as can be done. I'm glad you're slowly starting to realize that there's a lot to know about these cars and that you don't know it all. Just browsing through the archives on different topics can teach you a lot. I've owned two LS1's over the last three years, drag raced them, open tracked them, dyno'd them, autocrossed them, modded them, showed them, and still I don't pretend to know half of what a lot of the guys on this board do.

 

Man I'm sorry to burst your bubble. You are going to be disappointed when you get the dyno results. Anyway just have fun with the car and becareful.

are you sure your TCS is working? The sensors are out by the rotors. If your rim was destroyed it could have damaged the sensor. my car is an A4 and it will always spin the tires through fist second and into third with regular street tires on it and the TCS off. But with good tires it hooks and is gone. that was with no mods on the car.

Hahahahaha, the timming tricker for the IAT messed up the traction control. I took it out, and the car had less pizazz, especialy with the traction control on. I don't spin the tires, they just chirp a little.

Hate to burst your bubble but I ran a 13.07 on a "stock" 2000 T/A with a A4. These cars make a tremedous amount of torque(which is what spins tires btw) out of the box. Sounds like you have the same car as everyone else. And BTW those goodyear eagle F1's suck. Get some Nitto's and then talk about hooking up.

 

what I'd like to know, is how does a 16 yr old get a almost new Camaro SS ?????????????? been saving up since you were 8 ??


anyway, a true measure of a car's performance is a timeslip. Dynos don't always give a true picture of a car's potential. My car was always 'average' on the dyno compared to other LS1s, but was the quickest at the track. And it wasn't the driver, since we would change drivers.

 

With only 314 rhwp my 0-60 times are 5 flat and that's with a at idle slow launch using my tazzo. Maybe the tires have to much air in them so they break loose really easy? Getting the car isn't just to know what hp and tq your making. If you get wideband you will know what your a/f is at since you descreened the stock maf and that can cause problems to some.

 

Man....talk about breakin a kid down......i'm 18 i liked to think that my car is fast....but there are lots of people out there that will kill me!! So i talk all i want then when i get challenged i do my best to back it up..... I say let the kid think what he wants to think.... he will quickly learn that there is a lot faster out there.

By the way, buddy, my car dynoed 315 RWHP/335 RWTQ with a lid/cat-back in a 1998 Camaro Z28 six-speed. That's pretty damned good, but not even THAT is freak material.
