The biggest mistake people make is to put an exhaust on their stock car that sound mean when the car is stock. Then they decide that they want long tubes and a cam.......all of a sudden the car is too loud. I did this with my lmII. It made that car sound really good until I put long tubes and ory. I have the magnaflow quad tip exhaust and I really like the sound of it. As stated before magnaflow flows good and is not too loud when you do long tubes. Another option would be hooker........it has a good sound when you do lt's.

all those catbacks are very good catbacks. im running magnaflow right now with longtubes/ory/cammed and it does sound mean and good. very crisp sounding and its stainless steel.

i also like the hooker catback. its cheap, flows very well, and has a mean nice deep rumble. just dont really like the quality of it.

i ran loudmouth, and that **** was bad ***..unfortunately, with longtubes and ory its loud as hell. but at WOT!! i think its the meanest, vicious catback..

but if u had the money to spend on a catback, i would suggest going with corsa. stainless steel, the best looking tips, and a nice sound.. hope this helps.

What if your keeping it stock..Like me..Everything I like,Borla,GMMG,Billy Boat,is over $700..I just think those systems are quality and the other ones for like around $400 are cheaper..Its really hard to tell the sound on a youtube vid..You still don't know for sure unless its on your car..I don't care about WOT..I care about how it sounds at idle and taking off..I want a low deep rumble no rasp..

Just installed mangaflow 15684 on my 01 ss vert with stock manifolds and y-pipe. This exhaust is quiter than the rattling flowmaster that was on the veh when I bought it , but it has a low deep sound that i hope will get better when I save enough to add mids or lt. I think the manaflow is good sounding system for the price.

Yep, good price, great sound, good flow.
I basically found a used one for half price so I figgured if I needed to upgrade later down the road (when turbo kit is in) than I could turn around and sell it for about the same.

I have a Hooker muffler with LTs, 3 1/2" Y and mid pipe exiting through stock Z28 tips. I get lots of complements on the sound both before I did the cam and after. Its a loud car, if you want a quiet ride I'd suggest staying away from the Hooker setup. But if you don't care or enjoy the sound like I do, I'd say get the Hooker setup for the price range you're looking in.

If you want to stand out somewhat, and get something not too many other people have, save and get GMMG Chambered exhaust. This is if you don't plan on doing LT's or if you do LTs I suggest hi-flow cats with this setup (if loudness is an issue). I personally love the sound but like SLP LM it gets very loud and raspy with LTs and a cat-less Y. I'm actually considering changing to GMMG in the near future.

if you want to go even cheaper id suggest TSP rumbler $249.99 on texas-speed. its basically like the LM setup but it has a dynomax bullet i think, and if you dont like that you can replace it with a borla xr1, powerstick etc.

It really all depends on how loud/obnoxious you want to be and what you want to do with the car in the future. If you want to run Longtubes and go without cats, I'd reccomend a quieter catback like Magnaflow or Hooker. If you want a cam, these two are even better.

If you're keeping the stock manifolds, something louder like the Loudmouth II or a Borla would be a great choice.

I LOVE the sound of true duals, but I could never put up with them since my car is my daily driver.

Since I have Lontubes/ORY and a cam, I have a Magnaflow. It flows great and sounds better.

With stock exhaust system, nothing sounds or flows better than SLP LM1. Magnaflow does not flow better than the LM1.Sorry!

check youtube.com for clips of the exhaust set ups that you're lookin at. i have the lm2 with long tube headers and a off road y pipe in a A4. its loud and raspy as it shifts, but lsx cars should be loud!

If you want it loud then get dumped true duals. They can be done for the same or less than the cost of a catback.

Of the ones you listed, I vote for magnaflow.

The Random Tech catback sounds like poo. It pops a gurgles every time you left off the gas. Even when your just backing out of a parking space.
