Generally how much of a gain will you see from ditching the stock catback.

Magnaflow was WAY too quiet for me. I hate it when I start my car up, and can't even tell its on. No sound at all at idle. I bought the car with it, and did not feel like buying another muffler when I was going to go to TD's anyways, so I just dumped it after the y. It really isnt loud when it is still going through the cats.
Magnaflow sounds good at WOT, but it still is pretty quiet. I got bored with that muffler pretty fast.
Your car will not be loud as long as its going through the stock cats, and manifolds no matter what you put after the y.

When I bought mine, the only exhaust mod it had was a cut out. Since the muffler wasn't doing anything, I hacked it off and saved 30lbs. It's still relatively quiet, but still sounds good all for the low low price of $FREE.00 ![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
Honestly, if you plan on getting a catback anyway, hack the stock one off where it enters the muffler. If you like the sound, no money invested. If you don't, you can just add a catback.
Here's a clip of mine with the muffler hacked

.....the laugh......god damnit..
Can't wait 'til the longtubes find their way underneath the hood this weekend

Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't want to bring this thread back up but I have a quick question before I go an order some stuff.
Some people say get a Y-pipe along with the catback. Since I am not doing headers yet and run my cats, is that a waste of money for the time being? Should I just do the catback?

Thanks. I have some extra cash to spend so I might as well go for it. Any recommendations with what kind to get? Something on ws6store.com would be ideal since I am buying everything off of there.
