I paid $10,250 for my 98 SOM T/A with 49k a little over a year ago. It has a PERFECT interior and one door ding and one small scratch on the headlight. It was also dead stock when I got it.

Since your looking at an 01 with the good rod bolts and LS6 intake I would give $11,000 Play up the flaws and act like it really bothers you. The individual I bought mine from came down $2250 off the asking price. If they don't accept let it sit a while and go back later. Car dealers don't make $$ unless they move stuff and gas prices are not going to help anybody move these kinds of cars.
Can you tell I used to sell cars haha

Yeah, you can definitely talk him down. I only payed 11k for my z28, which is in great condition, because a guy that was trying to talk them down over a few days time was coming up to finally buy it. It was a Saturday night right before they closed and they had it tucked in the back for him. I saw it sitting there and asked if it was an m6 the guy says yes. The other guy shows up to buy it happy as hell all decked out in Dale Earnhardt apparel. I thought about it for 1/10th of a second and told them I'd take it if they repaired everything wrong with the engine light and the cat too since it was under warranty for 80k. I could have talked him down like the other guy but I wouldn't have the car. When he completed his final test drive he got out of the car and they asked him to give me the keys, just like that. My agent with seniority and sales prizes walked right over the sales agent that was yelling she was selling it. I swear this dude had a mullet and everything he was all over it, and I saw his heart break in half as he asked if I really just bought it. I'm thinking an SS is not going to sit there for too long in this weather and that color.

I would hurry up and get it if its really what you want. It seems like a pretty good price for the year, mileage, and color. I would jump on it if I were you.
