Default Headers *Important*

I have selected some pacesetter LTs, but they are Armor Coated...What is the main flaw of these? Why arent they as good as Ceramic Coated or any other coated headers?? THANKS

They tend to rust more, not as durable, and dont look as good

Basically you take them out of the box and get that warm happy feeling, then about three years down the road they look just as bad as uncoated headers, you just paid $100 or more for that.

Actually they look worse IMO I had a set and when they peel everyone knows you paid more for something that failed, look at a non coated set and it's uniformly rusted, it's expected to look that way.

Hmm for 23$ more i can have the 2000 Degree Ceramic KOOKS...hmm I have researched and by the looks of it KOOKS are much better (especially for only 23$ more Ceramic as well) what do you think...

Well Kooks are stainless remember where Pacesetters are not. Ceramic coating will eventually flake off but it does look better out of box for awhile. Basically if you can afford it I'd go stainless but if you're on a budget or don't care if they rust then go with coated.

Kooks are premium headers with a premium price tag. Try in the neighborhood of $1000 for a race set with no Y-pipe. http://www.lmperformance.com/15829/1.html

Pacesetters can be had for less then $400.
http://www.lmperformance.com/15999/.html

Comparing these two is nuts. If you are gonna shop premium brands compare QTP, Kooks, Dynatech, or ARH.

If you are going to compare middle of the road brands compare Pacesetter, Hooker, Jet Hot, etc

and If you really wanna save. check the cheapies on ebay, but beware!

i had pacesetters LT armor coated headers for about 2 years. i didnt drive the car through the winter but did drive it in rain and in early spring while there was still some salt on the roads (got anxious). when i took them off, the underside of the collectors and a little up the primaries had some surface rust on them. it wasnt awful but still there.

i think its totally worth the price and ease of install to get pacesetters over slp, plus i dont like the look of the collectors on the slp LT (looks restrictive compared to pacesetters design)

another thing is i liked the way the headers looked installed. nice silver look to them, nothing like stainless but still looked good IMO.

I bet you woudlnt. Because that most likely all youve had on your car. My ebay headers make almost the same numbers as you. But without the UD pulley and the BETTER 243 heads. People hate on **** they dont know about.

Basically with Kooks and ARH you pay a shitload of money for a reputation. You know without a doubt that they will be great headers.

The LPP/XS headers are far cheaper and just as good, but not proven...so if you haven't seen them or installed and run them yourself, you are, in a way, taking a chance. But what greatness has ever been achieved without taking chances? The savvy buyers will be willing to take a chance on a product that has all the potential and has received great reviews thus far because the $500+ saved will get him a cam and springs to outrun that guy who paid $1000+ for his headers.

4.11s is a bit much for an A4. Personally, I think 3.73s are ideal for the A4.

i prefer 3.23's or 3.42's in an a4... get a stall and it makes up the difference quick.
