premium is cleaner too, better for the engine in the long run. also a higher octane fuel burns slower and will give a slight increase in mpg, will it be alot? not necessarily but in all honesty its not much more expensive if any. yes it says 20 cents or whatever more, but its actually better fuel and you will get better mileage. so i would definately, without any doubt in my mind run premium under any circumstances.

used it all doesn't really matter you may get like 1-3 mpg more. but for .35 cents less who cares...also your hp/efficiency's may go down but if you just looking to save by all means SAVE!! LOL

If you have ever seen a piston riddled from detonation/knock and it looks like a moon rock you SHOULD never run 87. Summer is here and with the heat come knock. If you run 87 just sell your car you don't deserve it.
"Can you run 87....blah..blah" Yes you can, is it safe, no. Can you f**k a hooker without a condom....yes, but should you?
Peace,
Craig.

Running the fuel additive "Ethos" they claim you can run regular gas just fine. I would think mid grade would be ok. If you really romp on it an extra few buck savings isn't worth detonation.
To what 87 and WhiteWS6 said.
Premium is like 1 extra gallon. Is it worth saving your LS1? Thats up to your discretion.

Not sure what it does for octane and detonation though, maybe just add it to 93 to get better mileage.

My car only requires 87 (one of the few perks of the V6 lol) but if I had the LS1 I'd just put premium in it. It adds up to what, $3.60 difference for a fill-up from a bone-dry 18 gal tank. Not enough of a savings to really worth bothering putting lower-grade fuel than recommended in. Plus, you know that if you put regular in, you'll end up wishing you had premium when that ricer or stang pulls up next to you and gives you that rev
nice.. just bp, not any certain octane... just plain ole' BP? haha

I'm all about saving a buck, but $3.60 a tank isn't worth the risk or loss of power

wishing youd put 93 in when that stang or ricer pulls up.... you can tell you drive a six banger.. haha.. if it effects your performance enough to make you worry when a stang or ricer pulls up.. it definately doesnt belong in your car.. if i had to worry about them at all.. damn...
93 won't do me any good because my motor doesn't benefit from it. It was designed to run on 87, so that's what I use. If I had an LS1 I would certainly put 93 in it as that is what it calls for. Dumb not to IMO.
