1988 firebird rearend problem

1988 firebird rearend problem I just bought a 1988 firebird with a piece of the rearend that snapped. It is the straight piece in front of the rear wheel that the tow truck can hook up to. First, can anyone tell me what this piece is called, and second is it an easy replacement part or should i just weld it back with some supporting steel? Thanks! P.S I heard this piece is a common problem with firebirds and they commonly break. is this true?
