Default Steering wheel shake? Rotor related?

Got c5 zo6 rims installed on my 2000camaro about a week ago and just starting noticeing at about 60mph my steering wheel shakes...at first i thought it was the rims but i got the tires re-blanced and even got the car an alinement. To add to it i notice while being at a high mph when i even lightly break the steering wheel is jumping everywhere so i realize i need new rotors...my question is could the rotors be the cause of the wheel shaken even while off the break??

thanks guys!

yes they can. had the same problem with my stockers-if i went over 60 the wheel looked like it was having a siezure. i went with a set of brembo blanks and no more warping!

Bad tires made mine shake. Put new tires on and no more shake. Low tire pressure/bad tread + traction control can do it as well.

If you still have the same problem after you do rotors, than it could be that a wheel is bent... I had a friend who got in a wreck and SLIGHTLY bent a wheel. It was still drivable but between 50 and 60 his car had a seizure no matter how the tires were balanced. If thats the case you can get it repaired, just have to find a place to do it...

Tires, it's always the tires the wheel will only shake violently if yoru breaking from a high speed, then it's the rotors, if it's just doing it while driving trash teh tires or put them on the back and burn them away and buy new ones

like above, if it only does it while braking rotors. if it shakes over a certain speed, and you are sure they are balanced right, tires

Make sure tires have an even PSI. Mine was off and the shaking stopped once I corrected it.

get your wheels road forced. most places do not take the time to do a proper balance. this will match high and low spots on wheels with tires for a better balance. and if the problem started after new rims were put on then you need to look at that as the most probable cause. unless say you had crappy cupped tires on the back and they made it to the front when the tires were swapped to the new rims.

no there arent specific rotors for the left and ride side-i believe your not supposed to use old pads on new rotors i might be wrong though. the problem you are describing was exactly like my car (it had a slight shake over 60, but it was REALLY bad while braking) put new rotors/pads on and the car is smooth as ever.

well did the front brakes and rotors and the brakeing shake is gone ofcourse but the wheel still moves side to side after 50mph when im just driveing...a guy at dobbs said it was because i had uneven wear on my front tires...but when the where on my buddies vette he didnt have the problem...I dont know could it just be the difference between how each car sits on the wheels?? I know vettes sitting lower and our lighter...im just through guesses out there

help..lol

if you have uneven tread wear thats a sign of bad alignment-i would get an alignment check and maybe a tire balance check. if you have aggressive tires they will find grooves on the roads and follow them too.
