Programmer Hey guys, I was wondering what type of programmer is the best? I know SLP, Superchips, Hypertech, and a few other companies have them? Which will give me the most bang for my buck? Which is the most user friendly?
i have i 01-02 hypertech ls1-ls6 programmer sitting in my gagrge bthat worked great before i had my motor but now i have to get it dyno turned, Hypertec is a good programmer though, i will sell it pretty cheap too so pm me if your interested
+1...I use HpTuners (basically the same as EFILive). The added cost is worth it over a handheld programmer. They are a waste of money IMO.

Verdad Gallardo HPTuners is a laptop tuning software that gives you almost umlimited possibilities when tuning. Handhelds might firm up the shifts a little bit and bump up your timing but with HPTuners (or EFILive, LS1 Edit, etc.) you can play with the air-fuel ratio, MAF, VE tables, etc. The list goes on and on. So if you plan on staying nearly stock, then its probably not a waste of money. But most people on here are looking to do some mods to their car that will require a professional tune.
It could be a waste of money down the road if you plan on doing some major mods because you will have to get it professionally tuned. So you will spend $300-400 for the programmer then another $300-400 down the line for the dyno tune when you can spend less on the HPTuners or EFILive right away.
