There should be a part number stamped on the intake manifold. Somewhere on the website is a list of what part numbers are ls1/ls6 or google the part number.

i read that somewhere but i thought it said it was on the bottom and you would have to pull it apart to see the number, or is that a different number?

Do you have an EGR tube going into the manifold?

If there is no EGR than it is an LS6 intake manifold... All of the LS1's have the whole for the EGR to plug into right after the throttle body.

......Unless it's been modified to accept one.
SLP used to sell LS6 manifolds for CA cars that had EGR provisions.
All 97-00 LS1 Vette intakes have EGR delete.
The only way to tell for sure is to look at the bottom ..If its flat, it's an LS6.

This is true, forgot to mention that.

Here is a picture of the underside of both intakes... Took it last week when I did my manifold swap. It is really the only way to tell

LS6 on the left, LS1 on the right

The SLP ones have a different set up for the EGR going into the manifold. The stock one has a basket type thing held down by like a 10 mill bolt, the SLP type has a brass fitting type thing. Also you have to shave it so it doesn't obstruct the air coming in behind the tb.

97-00: 12556333 = LS1
01-02: 12561182 = LS6
02+: 12573572 = C5 LS6

the number should be visible w/o taking it off. its on the side on one of the flat areas. if i remember right its on the passenger side, but im not sure.
