Default difference between A4 M6 and T56 transmissions?

I was just wondering what is the difference between A4, the M6, and the T56 Transmission??

A4= automatic 4 speed, M6= Manual 6 speed, T56= Manual 6 speed

M6 I think is just what people usually refer to the t56. same thing

M6 can mean any six speed transmission, people who use it on here are reffering to the T56 transmission that come in f-bodies, etc. Think of it as an abbreviation for 6-speed transmission.

what everyone said above...
A4 is short for any 4-spd auto trans... actual name for f-bodies = 4L60E
M6 is short for any manual 6-spd trans... actual name for f-bodies = T56
