Default Driving on open headers?

I'm going to be finishing up my header install tonight. And I cannot make it to the exhaust shop until friday morning. Is driving the car going to be ok? What about WOT? The car will have front o2's in of course and the rear codes will be deleted. I just might wanna drive around with open long tubes tonight. hehe

Well driving alot without any sort of pipe off the header flange will kill your o2 sensors. Id at least put an extension pipe off the header. But I cant talk, I just drove my car to work today, open header'd.

the only thing you could run into having problem wise is burnt O2's but should be ok for one night and the only thing i see is your going to smell like exhaust and have a headache(maybe on the headache) and completely annoy everyone else. lol what a way to go i love it.

you could just clamp on some temporary turndowns or something. i've seen people do that before in your situation.

For a couple days I think you'll be fine. Even if you do burn them out worst case scenario, just replace them. Atleast you'll know that a fresh set are on there

Careful you don't smoke your 02's man. I drove around for 2 days maybe 25 to 30 miles and next thing I know i've got codes saying 02's are slow to respond on both banks. Had to buy two new ones.

I ran open headers for about 3 weeks...loved it but then I put on half of the ORY I had and I have been running that for about a month now. Love it just as much. My 02's are gone for sure though.

You will be fine. If you plan on keeping it with no exhaust for a while get some turn down pipes welded to the collectors.

I dont know where your cutout is, but mine is right after my Y pipe, and open, its loud. But I yanked the exhaust off the car, and the Y pipe off, and open headers is 10000X louder than a open cut out. Im now changing my set up to a cut out after each header, then the Y pipe, and catback.

tranny shakes like a ****! lol shifter *** shakes pretty bad at a certain rpm. Overall car its pretty loud and not too horrible to drive around with. It backfired a few times, but im sure thats from running rich from the o2's being too close to the fresh air.

if your running an a4 car im sure it shifts kinda funny due to the lack of backpressure. mine did the whole way to the exhaust shop. also ran like a pig on the bottom end
