Default Next mod

Hey guys, I have a 01 SS with a slp flow pac and exahust. Im wondering what the next mod should be? I was thinking a tuner, or a stall. The car is a daily driver. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Get some LT's and a Tune. That would net you a lot of HP at the wheels. A converter would also be a good choice.

Default stall

If I got a torque converter, what should the stall be? I was told at least a 4000. How does it affect driveability?

i'm doing a stall first because i want the most performance fast because I have a grudge race set up on september 14th at the Byron drag strip...4000 is not recommended for a DD...my buddy has one on his H/C T/A, and his MPG dropped to about 9-10 in the city on a stock 3.23 rear...i'm lookin to pick up a stall in the 35-3800 range...my buddy had a 3500 in his H/C z28 and he could still get at least 12-15 in the city. With a 4000 stall, ur sitting in first gear for a long time before it shifts, unless your manually shifting it off of stoplights...

just throwing the shifter into the next gear wont make you shift... the computer still shifts when i needs to, so "manually" shifting wont make it shift faster, you can just hold it in that gear for a longer period of time, unless its wot, then it will shift it before redline same as before.

i wasn't speaking from experience on that...i don't shift my car...only time i shift is when i drop it into 2 or 3 on the highway so i don't have to wait for a down shift on a roll race...my buddy told me thats what he was doing in his car...

It's all personal preference. If you do not go to the track often, I probably would not go higher than a 3800. Some people will recommend much higher stalls. Test drive a stalled auto first. Make sure you get a tranny cooler!!!

why are you going with a TSP y-pipe and not pacesetter?
