also if you have the FRA mod done it seems that if you put it in natural, or press the clutch at those speeds the rpms stay a little higher (around 1200-1400) from all that air being forced into the engine. I'm assuming thats why anyhow.

Never had a problem with it hitting the hood on my Z, and I have their smooth bellows as well.
I think the lid in and of itself isnt worth that much, but when you begin to mod it will become more and more important as the motor consumes more air.

Not a huge difference, im sure you would see some on a dyno or maybe even an improvment at the track but I doubt you would feel it, I know I didnt.
IMHO, I would look somewhere besides the SLP...I hate mine, my parents hate theirs. It just doesnt fit nicely, and now that my 85mm maf pushes it upword it hits my hood.Ill be getting the fast toys soon.

Ya..... I had LT, ORY, and a Ported TB I got for a killer deal I couldn't pass up. I put on a SLP lid and it made a Hellacious difference. I recall seeing an article in GMHTP about them track testing the NUMEROUS lids they make and MTI lid being the best and SLP coming in at number 2.
