shifter ?
I got a hurst shifter in and a buddy was telling me he cut the shifter down and he don't miss 3rd anymore. Was wonderin if its worth doing this or will going with a pro 5.0 help this problem?

"cutting" the Hurst shifter? That's a new one on me....but what do I know??? :-/
I've heard of replacing it with various after markets for a shorter throw...Hmmm cutting it.... Have you got a pic?
Anyone else got an opinion on this?

Cutting it would help. I cut the stick on my pro 5.0 and I think it feels much better. It won't be as good as an aftermarket shifter with a shorter stick but it will be better than what you have.

Cutting the stick down might help you hit 3rd, but that is not really going to solve the problem. The stock Hurst just pretty much sucks for hitting 3rd gear, the Pro 5.0 solves the problem completely. For the price, you really can't go wrong with the 5.0. Its much more precise and accurate, and the throw is even shorter than the Hurst as well.

If you still have the stock stick with a rubber isolator, get rid of it. That's what really wrecks the shifts when stock. If you want to get rid of the short/long throw or the general feel of the hurst, grab another shifter.

i cut mine down and it was awsome. i loved it. i have changed to a different shifter i made since then, but i would definitely say cutting the stock one was well worth it. it might not stop you from missing gears but it feels a lot better.
