any heads up or things to know about changing my water pump on a 01 ls1 camaro?

not really , just stay away from bargain box pumps unless you want to change them once a year

pretty easy to swap...6 bolts and thats it....other than the hoses. pulled mine off the paint and put it back on an hour later

edelbrock makes a water pump for our cars now. wonder if it is an actual upgrade or just b.s

you might need a plastic scraper to remove the old gasket. I had to use a scraper and other stuff.
