For the oil that the PCV systems likes to use up. I am not quite sure exactly how they work, but they help keep your oil in your car, and so you don't burn so much oil inbetween oil changes. There is someone around here that took a picture of his tb, and there was oil just sitting there around the plate and just chillin at the bottom of it.

Did you change your PCV? Was there a lot of oil in your tb when you did the swap? Have you checked your oil, and did you lose an excessive amount (like 2 quarts in 3-5k miles)? If no, then I wouldn't worry about it. Hopefully some more people will come in here with some suggestions. Honestly, if you arn't losing a lot of oil, I wouldn't worry about it.

There us was no oil in my TB when I did the swap. But I can't really say yet because I haven't really drove it yet.

your pcv system routes crankcase pressure into your intake. you hook the pcv line into the catch can and then run another line from the catch can to your intake so the can catches the oil before it enters your intake.

no problem, man. there's other things you can do with your pcv system besides catch cans that you may want to look into as well.

the best way to do it would be to get an ls6 pcv conversion kit from thunder racing. if you go to ls1howto.com it shows how to install it and how it works. for the money, just a catch can is a good way to go it's just the ls6 pcv conversion is probably the BEST way, if you know what i mean.

I have never heard of the ls6 pcv conversion. Would you say cheaper or just more effective then the catch can?

the ls6 conversion defenately isn't cheaper, it's $160 for the kit haha. it's because you have to swap to an ls6 valley cover. and some people run a can with the kit as well. so knowing that, it's not worth it to a lot of people unless they're really having problems with their stock pcv. just throwing out some options for ya.
