SLP lid fitment issue
well my SLP air lid is hitting my hood when i close it and one of the metal clasps comes off everytime i open my hood. is this something that all the lids do? or would a different one fit better?

Sounds like yours isnt fit right. Got any pics?
I had this happen when I got my smooth bellows, but it was a simple fix.
Make sure that everything behind the lid is fit correctly(accordian/smooth bellow to TB and MAF) and make sure that the 4 clips on the back are secure.

I have the same SLP lid. Always hits the hood, just a tiny bit.
Every Camaro I have seen does the same.
It is nothing major, the clips stay on most of the time + I have a smooth bellow.

i got my slp lid with a k&n filter... there was a small foam adhesive strip supplied with the lid which the instructions say to put along the side nearest the maf and the k&n filter came with a strip that said to put it all the way around the inside of the lid... well i used the k&n strip thinking it would seal better but it was causing the clips to pop off under wot and there was a small gap between the lid and lower airbox... i took the strip off and used the one supplied with the lid and everything is good... lid fits and seals tight and no clips popping off... no hood rubbing either but i have a t/a so maybe that's why

I doubt its on correctly. My SLP lid never hit once though I did have a problem with 1 of my clips coming off. I was able to bend it in the correct way to get it to clip fine though. Just keep playin with it and make sure you put it on correctly and you should be able to figure it out. I did and I'm not very mechanically inclined.

My lid did the same thing and I just had to tuck the front lip of the box into the bottom section. That did the trick too bad my firehawk hood was scratched before I knew how to fix it.

MTI lid fits bad
My clips won't stay clamped either. I think it's caused by smooth bellows. They are very stiff, and push the lid forward. My tabs won't stay in either. I even shaved them a little with a utility knife. No Luck! Aftermarket lids just fit like crap!!!! SLP lids don't fir any better, and they all crack! But, I gained 12 rwhp with them, so i'm leaving on!!!!
